CAN Termination 2 Years, 1 Month ago
If you are developing a CAN system you should be aware of CAN termination issues.

Per the CAN protocol, every CAN bus should have two 120 ohm resistors connected between CAN-H and CAN-L at each end of the physical bus. Typically CAN will be functional in development systems with anywhere from 1 to 4 termination resistors on the bus.

This note should not apply to customers using CANCapture to connect to existing production systems or vehicles as these systems should already be configured with the proper CAN termination resistors.

If you are experiencing lots or red error messages (that mention "bit stuffing" errors and such) in the raw capture window, it is likely that you do not have proper CAN termination. You will also be seeing lots of red flashing LEDs on the CAN LED of the ECOM device. If you are seeing these symptoms, double-check that you have proper CAN termination on your bus.
