ECOM Installation Driver Issues 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I've got two laptops, both exactly the same and as far as I can tell have the exact same windows version(XP)/service packs and dotnet framework installed.

But, I've installed the same driver on both machines and plugged in the ECOM device. On the one laptop it installs perfectly and I can use it in my own can application. The other one:

- Shows new hardware
- Detects that it's a ECOM device and starts copying the dll files, etc.
- On the final page of the wizard it just says something about Hardware not installed

If I check the device in the device manager it says something about incorrect config and (Code 1). It also suggests reinstalling the driver. I've tried that and also tried updating the driver on the device etc.

Any ideas on why its not installing correctly? And why it would perfect on the other laptop (which is identical)

Sorry for the delay, I just missed this post.

I have never seen this problem before.

Could it be a 64-bit OS you are trying to install? If so, make sure you have downloaded the latest driver that supports 64-bit O/S.

This also works for 32-bit and may resolve your problems: http://www.cancapture.com/downloads/doc_download/48-driversetup-v30115.html

Nope, that driver doesn't work. Still gives the same problem. The device in system manager says the following message:

This Device Is Not Configured Correctly. (Code 1)

But on another laptop (the exact model/windows, etc) it works fine.
